STATE CORRECTIONAL POLICE OFFICERS COMMENDED FOR EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE WILLINGBORO (2/1/24)- Two New Jersey State Correctional Police Officers were recently commended for their life-saving service when responding to a medical emergency. On what was supposed to be a routine morning in Juvenile Medium Security Facility, the situation quickly turned critical when Ofc. Kevin Fox and Ofc. John Paul came upon a resident who was unresponsive and at risk of losing his life. Without hesitation, both officers assessed the situation, rendered aid and coordinated with medical personnel in attempts to return the resident back to full health. While commending both officers, Correctional Police Major Grille iterated: "In times of crisis, it is reassuring to staff, your supervisors, peers, and the resident population to have officers like you who go above and beyond the call of duty. I am truly impressed by your actions and dedication to the wellbeing of the Commission's residents. The bravery and confidence you displayed are an asset to the public, the Johnstone Campus, and the Juvenile Justice Commission alike. I appreciate your efforts, situational awareness, and professionalism, and I hope that your actions will inspire others." In addition to commendation from their superior officers, Ofc. Fox and Ofc. Paul received the coveted "HERO Award" from the State Correctional Police Union, NJPBA Local 105. "We are incredibly proud of Ofc. Fox and Ofc. Paul for their bravery and professionalism.
